Born in Aveiro, Portugal, Miguel was drawn to jazz from a very young age. He received a classical diploma in high school and moved to the Netherlands to study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he began shaping his voice as an artist.
Since then, Miguel has become a distinctive presence in the European jazz scene, performing at major festivals such as North Sea Jazz, Into the Great Wide Open, and Boom Festival. As founding member of the award-winning indie jazz band NAUSYQA, his playing is defined not just by skill, but by presence, intuition, and authenticity.
